Here's What Anna Wintour Really Thinks About Cardi B's Style

Does the fashion legend approve?

On Vogue‘s recent “Go Ask Anna” episode starring editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the fashion mogul answers a number of questions ranging from what her first job in fashion was to her favorite runway show in the Fall of 1994. However, what caught our attention the most was Wintour’s take on Cardi B‘s unforgettable 2019 Met Gala look.

The editor was “completely in awe of the stunning dress Cardi wore to the Met this year.” The Grammy-winning rapper wore a dramatic burgundy gown designed by Thom Browne in which “she could barely move, but it made no difference. People parted like the Queen coming through because she looked so fantastic,” says Wintour.  She also stated that she had not seen Cardi look as chic or as original beforehand which has made her completely reevaluate her opinion of the rapper’s style. As the editor herself would put it, “she rocks.”
