Billie Eilish Models MCM's New, Genderless FW19 Campaign
Highlighting Billie’s signature style.
Billie Eilish has swiftly risen in the music industry roughly over the past year. Alongside her blossoming entertainment career, her personal style has also driven fans to follow her work more heavily. Recently, she launched a series of pop-ups filled with colorful tour merch. Now, the singer is revealed as the face of legacy brand MCM‘s Fall/Winter 2019 campaign.
In the official imagery, alongside rapper Childish Major, Eilish appears in her signature personal style: cozy, oversized outerwear and pants paired with bold sneakers — this time by MCM. Standouts in the shots, are comprised of an extra-large parka in a green tone, baggy track suits and weather appropriate coats.
Accessories in the shots worth paying attention to include a logo-centric fanny pack and a backpack that appears to convert into a tote also in brown. Both of these pieces feature the brand’s well known black logo throughout.
MCM Global Creative Officer Dirk Schönberger recently shared a bit of insight on the company’s shift to focus on ready-to-wear. Schönberger has been with the brand since October 2018 and prior to his current role, he worked as adidas’ creative director for eight years. In an interview with WWD he stated:
“I’m not delusional: MCM is a leather goods brand, and we will not push that aside. But we want to build the ready-to-wear and shoes business organically.”
The forthcoming MCM collection will be available at the brand’s website, physical boutiques and stockists like Neiman Marcus this month. Schönberger’s first collection for the brand will arrive for Spring/Summer 2020.
