Converse’s New VLTG Collection Reinterprets the Cult Classic "Voltage" Design

Rejoice, lovers of ’90s basketball silhouettes.

Converse’s new VLTG campaign has released. The silhouette was originally released in 1995 under the name Converse Voltage. The primary focus was the “bolt-chevron” design a statement on the college and NBA basketball courts. Eventually, it became a cult-style and bringing it back for 2019, the Voltage is renamed VLTG. The redesign includes an elevated heel arch, herringbone outsole and lightweight SmartFoam cushioning, that provides support for the day.

The VLTG is visually striking, featuring black and white “bolt-chevron” material fused together to create the illusion of movement. And depending on what kind of color palette you enjoy, there are a couple of options available — white and black, black and off-black, white and gray.

The Converse VLTG will release on August 1 for $95 USD and will be available on Converse’s website.
