Dr. Martens' "Alternative Edge" Pack Is for DIY Queens
Punk rock-inspired.
After an iridescent, festival-ready boot release, Dr. Martens has gone in an edgier direction with its “Alternative Edge” pack. The collection features punk rock-inspired footwear and accessories embellished with gunmetal pyramid studs and painted white lines reminiscent of liquid Wite-Out.
The pack includes the 8-eye 1460 Stud boot ($212 USD), 10-eye 1490 Joska Stud boot ($201 USD), 3-eye 1461 Zambello Stud low-top shoe ($201 USD) and a backpack ($222 USD). All the footwear is made with Dr. Martens’ black, “Vintage Smooth” leather, which gives the shoes a slightly grainy look for a retro feel, and of course, the soles feature the brand’s siganture yellow welt stiching and air chushion.
The “Alternative Edge” pack is all about contrast. Both high-top boots are fitted with white laces, giving the shoes a customized, personal feel. The Joska and Zambello shoes are decked out in white leather straps and a silver buckle creating a versatile yet bold aesthetic. Following the same theme, the studded backpack is built with a black leather base and white straps.
