Exclusive sacai x NikeCourt Apparel Debuts on Naomi Osaka

The first-ever performance collab between Swoosh and designer Chitose Abe.

It is without a doubt that sacai‘s boundary-pushing LDV Waffle and Blazer collaborations with Nike are some of the most covetable sneakers of the year. Now, designer Chitose Abe further continues her partnership with the sportswear giant with the debut of an innovative set of NikeCourt performance apparel – the pieces are unveiled on none other than world ranked No. 1 tennis player, Naomi Osaka.

Following her win against 23-time champion Serena Williams at the US open in 2018, Osaka took the sport world by storm as the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles. It is now fitting that two titans in their respective fields will now come together for a truly exceptional collaboration. Known for her eye for detail and hybrid experimentation with cut-and-sew tailoring, Chitose Abe showcases her singular aesthetic for the unique design seen on Osaka.

As an off-kilter re-imagination of the standard tennis skirt, Abe’s rework adds a second layer for a doubled skirt that plays with depth and dimension. As an added element to the illusion, the design that seems to be a dress upon first glance, is actually a modern bodysuit two-piece with closer observation. Set to make its first public appearance at the Flushing event to take place in Queens, New York later this summer, the sacai x NikeCourt is truly a unique marriage between style and sport.

You can watch Naomi Osaka play in the new sacai x NikeCourt performance apparel at the US Open when it starts on August 26.

To see more from Chitose Abe, don’t miss these furry accessories that will launch soon for the sacai x Nike LDWaffle and Blazer Mid.
