Instagram Direct Messaging May Be Arriving for Desktop Web Soon
Communication has never been more important.
Instagram has really been, as they say, doing the most over the past few weeks; the app has introduced new filters, a renewed editing tool, a feature which aims to battle fake and photoshop imagery uploaded onto the platform, hidden likes and, perhaps the one we’re most excited about – access to DMs via Instagram’s website.
You heard right. Instagram is trialing the new addition to its web-based platform by allowing a “small percentage” of IG users the ability to send direct messages from Instagram’s website. While this is only an initial test – as was the hidden likes test a couple of months back – we’re hoping that the feature will eventually roll out full-scale, full-time. It’ll ease the lives of so many, especially those that use their Instagram profiles for business purposes. It would also be the silver lining to losing our phones somewhere in a park or the metro.
Would you like to start a chat with a friend on IG via your laptop screen, as well as receive desktop DM notifications as you browse the internet? Let us know what you think about the potential addition in the comments below.
