Gigi Hadid, Edward Enninful and More Among 2020 LVMH Prize Judging Panel
Applications for the prestigious award close soon.
This year’s prestigious LVMH Prize will be judged by a panel of 59 fashion experts including Gigi Hadid, the contest’s semi-final Showroom Ambassador; British Vogue Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful and Parisian sound director — known for creating runway soundtracks for Dries Van Noten and Balenciaga — Michel Gaubert.
Promising young designers will compete for a prize of €300,000 (approximately $331,000 USD) and a one-year LVMH mentorship to help with brand marketing, development and production. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize, introduced to honor the late Chanel designer, awards a winning designer €150,000 (approximately $165,500 USD) and one year of mentorship. Past winners include now-flourishing brands Marine Serre, Grace Wales Bonner and Jacquemus.
Additional members of the expansive judging committee include makeup artist Pat McGrath, activist Sinéad Burke (also a 2020 Woolmark Prize judge), HYPEBEAST founder Kevin Ma and journalist and OG fashion blogger Susie Lau.
Applications for the 2020 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers can be submitted on the LVMH website through February 2.
