Grace Wales Bonner Adds Crochet Detailing to the adidas Samba
The British designer teams up with the sneaker brand for a second round of shoes.
adidas Originals has enlisted British designer Grace Wales Bonner for a second shoe collaboration, this time revamping the classic Samba and SL72.
The Samba, a heritage soccer shoe, arrives in black and beige colorways accented with hand-stitched detailing. The black iteration features a crocheted version of adidas’ lateral Three Stripes while the beige version, overlaid with brown leather paneling, boasts contrast stitching at the heel. The SL72, a retro running style, is rendered in earthy fall tones. The first of two colorways is constructed of a burgundy upper accented with brown and deep orange paneling. The second applies pastel green stripes and wine-colored overlays to a forest green base.
The Wales Bonner x adidas Fall/Winter 2020 collaboration ranges from $150 to $180 USD at the La Garconne website.
