VETEMEMES Returns From Hiatus With Tongue-in-Cheek FW20 Collection
The parody brand is back.
VETEMEMES, fashion archivist Davil Tran‘s cheeky parody of Demna Gvasalia‘s Vetements, is back from a three-year-long hiatus. The brand, which pushes Vetements’ playful approach to an extreme, is releasing a new range of hoodies, T-shirts and accessories inspired by Gvasalia’s signature designs.
A white T-shirt decorated with a cartoon illustration of a lovestruck couple reads, “Love is…Listen to Playboi Carti together” while an oversized hoodie mimics Vetements’ signature heavy metal font. A long-sleeve tee is printed with renderings inspired by Japanese thriller Battle Royale and a particularly bizarre bandana boasts a yellow Minions-inspired character wearing Balenciaga’s platform Crocs collaboration. A pair of black socks emblazoned with “my feet hurt” and a black logo cap top off the humorous drop.
Take a look at VETEMEMES’ FW20 collection above. The range prices from $38 to $170 USD and is available for pre-order at the VETEMEMES website.
