SU GI Unveils SS21 Collection via Seoul Fashion Week’s Generation Next Program

Further marking its name as a designer to watch in the Korean fashion industry.

Following its wedding-themed Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook, South Korea‘s emerging designer label SU GI has now unveiled its Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The socially-distanced runway was showcased via Seoul Fashion Week‘s Generation Next program, which supports young independent creatives.

Founded in March last year, SU GI has swiftly become a name to watch for its disruptive designs worn by the likes of BLACKPINK’s Jennie, AOMG vocalist Hoody and more. This time around, the SS21 lineup dubbed “MIRA MIRROR” explores the act of looking into the mirror as a “means of heading in a better direction as we introspect consistently until death,” as shared in a press release. Dedicated to the designer’s grandfather who passed away a few months prior, the collection discovers how we can find ourselves through self-reflection.

The futuristic lookbook sees James Bond-style laser beams shot on the wall, as models pose in tailored suits paired with a sheer white shirt. Contrasting the look, a long-sleeve tee boasts bold prints, while the effect is accentuated with a metallic silver mini skirt. Elsewhere, reflective panels resembling SU GI’s logo make up a flashy dress. The theme is followed throughout on shiny trousers, tops and more.

See SU GI’s SS21 presentation below. You can expect the pieces to release in early 2021.
