Including upgraded cameras and pastel iterations.
Following an initial introduction earlier this month at the Samsung UNPACKED conference, the company’s new Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra are officially available. The phones offer an innovative camera experience, upgraded processor, expanded storage and faster 5G technology.
Arriving in “Cosmic Gray,” “Cosmic Black,” “Cloud Blue” and “Cloud Pink,” the phones range in size from 6.2 inches (S20) to 6.9 inches (S20 Ultra). The S20+ offers a comfortable in-between of 6.7 inches. Similar to the iPhone 11, the S20 and S20+ boast two back cameras (wide-angle and telephoto) as well as a front-facing lens. The S20 Ultra — the iPhone 11 Pro of the range — upgrades all three cameras with higher resolution along with 10x Hyper Optic Zoom and 100x Super Resolution Zoom.
Samsung has also introduced 5G technology, allowing users to stream, download and upload at a faster speed. Quick Share, an instantaneous file-sharing feature that can link with five nearby contacts at once, poses competition to Apple‘s AirDrop. All phones boast internal storage up to 512GB, expandable to 1.5TB with a microSD. Those accident prone can rest easy: the S20 is water resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
The Samsung S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra range from approximately $1,000 to $1,400 USD and are available through popular carriers as well as Samsung’s website.
