Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and More to Appear in Virtual Runway Show by Carine Roitfeld
Created in partnership with amfAR Against COVID-19.
Carine Roitfeld has announced a virtual runway show, held via YouTube livestream, to benefit COVID-19 research. Created in partnership with AIDS research foundation amfAR, which recently launched a fund to fight COVID-19, the entirely digital show will see celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and Ashley Graham don statement outfits and walk the “runway” from home. Hair, makeup, nails and styling for all talent will be executed remotely with the help of Roitfeld and her team.
Industry names including Virgil Abloh, Alexander Wang and Maria Grazia Chiuri will also make appearances in the special show, along with walks by Paloma Elsesser, Alessandra Ambrosio and drag queen Miss Fame.
“I’ve always believed in the power of inspiration — it’s one of the founding reasons behind CR Fashion Book — and I know that we can use the runway to really make a difference. I look forward to your participation in CR Runway with amfAR Against COVID-19 and your help in bringing hope and inspiration to the hard-working scientists and others engaged in this fight,” Roitfeld writes on the initiative’s dedicated website.
Carine Roitfeld and amfAR’s CR Runway show will stream on YouTube on May 1 at 4 p.m. EST (1 p.m. PST). To donate to amfAR’s COVID-19 fund, head to the CR Runway x amfAR website.
