Samsung's New Galaxy Z Flip 5G Is a Blast From the Past
An upgraded version of a ’00s classic.
Earlier this year, Samsung released limited quantities of its Galaxy Z Flip and instantly sold out online. For those who weren’t able to get their hands on the foldable phone, the tech company is set to drop a new version of the model dubbed the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
Featuring a Snapdragon 856 Plus 5G chipset, the device arrives in a 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display and an inner 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display. If you’re looking to up your Instagram game, its 12-megapixel camera boasts a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide lens.
Other updates include the Flex Mode, which allows you to watch a video on the top half of the screen while using the bottom half of the phone simultaneously. Finally, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will come with a new multitasking function called the App Pair. This specific capability will authorize you to have two apps open at the same time using the smartphone’s Multi-window tray.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available in “Mystic Bronze” and “Mystic Gray.” Both colorways are reportedly releasing on August 7 and are priced at $1,450 USD each.
