Sustainable Label Veja Introduces New Vegan Sneaker, Urca
Arriving in 6 different colorways and with 100% organic cotton laces.
Having been named in Lyst‘s Conscious Fashion Report (which was released earlier this year) as one of the most-wanted sustainable brands, Veja now returns with its latest release: the Urca, a vegan edition of the brand’s classic V-12 trainer. As part of its Fall/Winter 2020 collection, the new style is composed of vegan Corn Waste Leather (C.W.L.), which is a bio-source material that is made from a waxed canvas derived from 50 percent corn waste eliminated from the food industry. As an eco-friendly textile alternative, C.W.L. has the touch of leather but is also biodegradable.
Fans of the brand will be happy to note that the Urca arrives in Veja’s beloved white silhouette, embellished with six different color accents. To round off the sustainable silhouette, each pair is constructed with 100 percent organic cotton laces.
The Urca is slated to launch on August 10 at veja-store.com.
