SAYE Taps Into Sustainability With Upcycled "Not Just Vegan" Sneakers
The footwear label is committed to becoming animal-free and zero-waste.
Following up on its Modelo ‘89 sneaker range introduced earlier this year, SAYE is now introducing its first-ever vegan, upcycled shoes dubbed “Not Just Vegan.” Available in three iterations, these kicks are the result of a year-long process of research and development.
Taking inspiration from the original Modelo ‘89 silhouette, the new design is crafted with recycled and recyclable fibers from recovered plastics. “Vegan White” is a tonal look with cream white splashed throughout the entire sneaker, while “Vegan Caramel” shows more contrast with a caramel hue on the midsole. “Vegan Dark” sports black all over, with SAYE’s logo placed at the tongue to finish off the look.
The new collection is the first step in SAYE’s commitment to becoming animal-free and zero-waste in its supply chain, as well as fighting for fair working conditions. To help save the planet, the footwear brand also plants two trees in needed areas for each pair of shoes sold.
Take a closer look at SAYE’s “Not Just Vegan” sneakers in the gallery above. The shoes will be available for pre-order on July 19 for €135 EUR (approximately $154 USD) a pair.
