adidas Originals Kicks Off A-ZX Series Relaunch With ZX 1000C Model
A vintage design from the late ’80s.
A program celebrating its range of ZX performance sneakers that initially launched in 1984, adidas Originals‘ A-ZX series is slated to make a grand return. The initiative, which saw 26 ZX drops in 2008 and 2009, will be relaunched for a range of another 26 special pairs.
adidas has announced that it will be releasing kicks that pay homage to the ZX series from 2020 to 2021, with inspiration taken from its archive. Each pair stands for one letter of the alphabet to create a collection of 26 in total. Kicking off the launch is the first-ever re-release of the ZX 1000C shoe, representing the letter “R” that stands for “RETRO.”
A silhouette that emerged back in the late ’80s, the new ZX 1000C maintains the original look of the kicks overall with the same color palette. Arriving with a white upper made of synthetic suede and nylon mesh, the sneakers are highlighted with adidas’ signature stripes in blue, while a black overlay is added for contrast. A vintage feel is further added with a cream-white outsole, while a hint of lime-green is seen on the Torsion lace lock.
