UPDATE (January 4, 2022): Following much anticipation, SM Entertainment has finally debuted its newest K-pop supergroup, GOT the beat.

Much like the agency’s SuperM, the new seven-member act features some of SM’s hottest names, including multiple generations of idols such as BoA, Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet‘s Seulgi and Wendy and aespa‘s KARINA and WINTER. For their grand debut, GOT took the stage at the company’s buzzy online concert, where they performed their first-ever track, “Step Back.”

ORIGINAL STORY (December 26, 2021): SM Entertainment is launching a new K-pop girl group with members of aespa, Red Velvet and Girls’ Generation. Dubbed GOT, or Girls on Top, the seven-member act is led by musician BoA.

GOT is similar to SM’s supergroup SuperM in that it features musicians from the company’s existing names. In addition to BoA, the new team consists of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy and aespa’s KARINA and WINTER.

SM has yet to unveil more details on GOT. However, the group will be making their debut on January 1, 2022 and drop their first song on January 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. KST (4 a.m. ET). Peep the teaser below.
