Wear Earthero Tackles Issues of Waste in Upcoming Art Exhibition
Featuring reworked Louis Vuitton and Hermès bags.
Wear Earthero, a sustainable wearable art brand, has teamed up with HK Timber Bank to launch an exhibition tackling offcut wastage and surplus fabric, an issue prominent in the fashion industry. The event features two capsules representative of the clothing startup, namely “Classics Reimagined” and “Wear Earthero Art-isan Collective.” All pieces are produced based on principles of sustainability, with stools and display panels comprised of recycled wood.
The former capsule showcases vintage items in joint collaboration with a local artist. WE combines each creative’s signature hand-painted artwork with motifs surrounding conscious living and local culture. Notable artworks include reworked versions of Hermès‘ Kelly 35 Leather Handbag and Louis Vuitton‘s Luggage Bag. “Art-isan Collective” expands on the same themes in which young artists incorporate deadstock fabric as a canvas. The material is subsequently translated into multi-purpose kimono jackets and phone bags, with profits going to Green Sense and the J Life Foundation.
The Wear Earthero event will be held from January 7 to 16 next year.
