Saie and Sephora Are Recovering Over 1 Million Pounds of Plastic Waste for Earth Day
Along with 11 other beauty brands.
In honor of Earth Day on April 22, Saie and Sephora are partnering to launch the Planet Beautiful 2026 initiative. With the help of cult beauty brands like Amika, ILIA, Crown Affair and more, the campaign is tackling the beauty industry’s pollution problem by funding the recovery of over 1 million pounds of plastic waste.
“The global beauty industry produces an estimated 120 billion units of packaging annually, yet only 9% is recycled, with the rest ending up in landfills or polluting ecosystems worldwide,” Saie says in a press release. “Planet Beautiful brings together brands, retailers and consumers to fund large-scale plastic recovery efforts, prevent plastic from entering ecosystems and repurpose recovered materials into durable goods.”

With triple the amount of brands participating compared to last year, Planet Beautiful 2026 is led by Alpyn, Amika, Biossance, Caliray, Caudalie, Crown Affair, Experiment, ILIA, Nécessaire, Saie, Skinfix and Violette_FR.
