'Bridgerton' Casts 'Sex Education' Star Simone Ashley for Season 2
The actress will play Kate Sharma, Lord Anthony’s love interest.
As fans anxiously wait for the second season of Bridgerton, Netflix has now announced that Sex Education star Simone Ashley will join the cast as the female lead opposite Jonathan Bailey. As reported by Deadline, the actress will appear on screens as Kate Sharma – Lord Anthony’s romantic interest and “a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools.”
Based on The Viscount Who Loved Me, the second book of Julia Quinn’s romance series, the upcoming installment of Bridgerton will focus on the story of Lord Anthony, who is the oldest of the Bridgerton clan. Although not much is known so far, the original novel portrays Anthony as a playboy who falls in love with Kate after attempting to settle down with her sister.
