Nike Leads Sneaker Innovation With New GO FlyEase Silhouette
A design that makes wearing and taking off shoes easier than ever.
As the sportswear giant continues to roll out fan-favorite silhouettes such as the Dunk Low and Air Jordan 1, Nike is expanding its innovative designs with a new sneaker dubbed the GO FlyEase. Marrying design with engineering, the latest release is a hands-free shoe that prioritizes convenience.
As suggested by its name, the silhouette is all about wearing and taking off the shoe in an easy motion. Featuring a bi-stable hinge, the footwear style can be secured in both fully open and closed states. With the Kickstand Heel, wearers can literally kick the sneakers off without using their hands and compromising the heel. The piece additionally features a “Diving Board” that adds comfort and stability to the footbed, while a tensioner band at the midsole snaps the shoe into either the closed or open positions.
The innovation caters to anyone from a student rushing to class, to a parent with their hands full. “Usually I spend so much time to get in my shoes. With the Nike GO FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump on it. The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone’s real life,” champion fencer Bebe Vio shares her thoughts on the model.
