Brother Vellies x Sephora Launch Luxe Makeup Bag Collaboration

Sephora and Brother Vellies have dropped a collection of makeup bags inspired by signature styles from the Aurora James-helmed footwear brand.
According to an Instagram post by James, the collaboration has been three years in the making. In fact, the designer speculated the project would be canceled after she launched the 15 Percent Pledge and called on Sephora to increase its representation of Black-owned beauty brands. Sephora later committed to James’s proposed pledge and continued to work with her, who wrote that the collaboration “mean[s] so much more to us than most people will ever know.”
Drawing from Brother Vellies’ popular Doodle boots, the Doodle bag applies hand-drawn illustrations to a faux leather exterior. The soft pouch is constructed with a zippered closure and clasp embossed with the brand’s logo. A second style, the Train Case, is a rectangular top-handled bag pairing croc-embossed faux leather with leopard print canvas. Lastly, a set of three bags includes a large carrier that holds two smaller pouches. Tortoise shell zipper pulls and Brother Vellies x Sephora co-branding tie the three-in-one set together.
