BTS Manager Big Hit Entertainment Is Changing Its Name

The company plans to position itself as a comprehensive lifestyle platform.

Big Hit Entertainment, the Korean company that backs BTS, is changing its name to HYBE Corporation. The company confirmed the news to Variety, and said more information will be provided in future press releases.

Big Hit Entertainment has reportedly registered its new name with business regulation agencies. The name change, which has yet to be approved by shareholders, will be announced at a meeting on March 30. According to Variety, the revision is part of the company’s plans to position itself as a comprehensive lifestyle platform that extends beyond music management and production. Big Hit hopes to expand into real estate and travel, two sectors seemingly disparate from the its current endeavors. (Are BTS-themed houses in our future?)

Stay tuned as further updates emerge.
