Counterfeit Apple AirPods 3 Have Already Hit the Market

Apple has yet to officially announce the third-generation earphones.

Despite months of speculation surrounding Apple‘s third generation AirPods, the tech giant has remained tight-lipped on details regarding the wireless earphones. Beating Apple to the punch, counterfeit versions of the company’s rumored third-generation AirPods have already hit the market.

Revealed in TikTok videos posted to Twitter, the fake AirPods 3 resemble leaked renders of the product. The earphones, which Apple has yet to officially announce, will reportedly feature elements of the company’s second-generation AirPods and the AirPods Pro. Apple products are frequently counterfeited and sold online, sometimes with disastrous results. In March, cybersecurity researcher Andrea Stroppa used an iPhone charger that suddenly exploded. The product, which Stroppa borrowed from a friend, turned out to be fake. It goes without saying that customers should stay away from counterfeit AirPods — no one wants to deal with an in-ear explosion.

Head to Twitter to take a closer look at the knock-off AirPods 3.
