GCDS x Mizuno Add Cherry-Inspired Details To Wave Prophecy 8 Sneaker

Statement kicks to update your rotation this season.

Readying for the spring season, Italian streetwear brand GCDS has joined forces with Mizuno for a pair of sneakers. Arriving in the Wave Prophecy 8 silhouette, the design is perfect for adding a pop of color to your seasonal outfits.

The technical sneaker dons a cream white upper with tonal overlays creating texture throughout, accompanying Mizuno’s signature logo patched onto the laterals. Creating contrast, a cherry fuchsia hue is splashed onto the groovy midsoles, extending to the heels in a metallic finish. The tongue sports a rainbow color theme with GCDS’ branding, along with interwoven mint and purple shoelaces rounding out the look.

“The cherry represents blossom season in Japan, which is where the shoe will be launched. Utilizing GCDS’ staple color fuchsia, I decided to give it a metallic appeal because it reminded me of Japan’s aesthetic, sweet, fun and futuristic as the technology of the Wave Prophecy 8,” the Italian brand’s creative director Giuliano Calza shares in a press release.

Priced at €265 EUR (approximately $317 USD), the collaborative Wave Prophecy 8 is set to launch exclusively via GCDS’ web store on April 15, followed by a wider release on April 30. Take a closer look above.
