BREAD Beauty Supply Hair-Oil
When my hairdresser suggested I add hair oil to my routine, I recoiled. I mistakenly thought that anything with oil would make my head look greasy and unshowered when in reality, the product helps smooth and moisturize locks. BREAD Beauty Supply’s Hair-Oil, one of the brand’s hero products, lives up to its hype. Applying just a few drops to wet hair after showering helps set my middle part in place, tames flyaways and adds gloss. Kosas Brow Pop
After accidentally leaving the cap of my Glossier Brow Flick open and drying out the brush-tip last month (RIP), I had been looking for a replacement product for my eyebrows. That’s where Kosas‘ newly launched defining pencil Brow Pop came to the rescue. Along with the Air Brow volumizing gel (I use the shade Medium Brown for both products), the dual-ended pencil gives me natural-looking, filled-in brows that last even on warmer days. Its octagonal shape, which keeps the product stable on flat surfaces, is a small design detail that I also appreciate — anyone who has unwillingly dropped and broken their makeup products before can probably relate. – Teresa Lam, Features Editor
Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 30
If you’re looking for a sunscreen that doubles as the perfect makeup base, Supergoop!’s Glowscreen is the one. Having used other SPF products from the brand, I was keen on seeing how this product would differ, and was almost shocked when applying it for the first time. Adding an almost metallic sheen to your skin, the product is perfect underneath a sheer base (I usually use a cream-to-powder foundation or just concealer on top) and makes your skin look luminous whilst still protecting you from the harsh UV rays. Born with naturally frizzy hair, I had been getting perms my entire life, until the pandemic broke out and going to the hairdresser frequently was no longer an ideal option. After trying multiple products, I finally settled on Olaplex’s No.8 hair mask, which is perfect for repairing damaged strands. Formulated to make your hair healthier from the inside out, this mask works just like a salon treatment and only takes 10 minutes to use in the shower.
