Lazy Oaf Taps Irish Illustrator Laura Callaghan for Latest Collection

Featuring prints inspired by traditional painted covers of romance novels.

Following its “2001” collection, Lazy Oaf is back with another apparel range. In collaboration with London-based Irish illustrator Laura Callaghan, the line celebrates the idea of fiction as escapism and comfort.

“I wanted to create something around the theme of escapism and curling up at night with a good book can provide that feeling,” Callaghan explained in a press release. “I was inspired by the amazing traditional painted covers of romance novels but also imagined the reader and the kind of space they would inhabit.”

Book print-inspired graphics can be found on the unisex pants, a bowling shirt and a patchwork smock dress, as well as two tees and a knit that reads: “Book lovers never go to bed alone.” Elsewhere, the reversible coat features pink and red hearts on one side and a book cover print on the other. Meanwhile, the tonal green cloudy two-piece set comes with elasticated boxer-style shorts and a puff sleeve cropped shirt.

Priced from £8 to £180 GBP (approximately $11 to $255 USD), the first drop of Laura Callaghan x Lazy Oaf’s “Book Lovers Never go to Bed Alone” collection is now available online. Drop 2 will release on June 17.
