Mary J. Blige, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning artist and Academy Award-nominated singer and actress, is set to release her own documentary via Amazon Prime. Directed by Vanessa Roth, the film highlights the talent’s personal and critically acclaimed 1994 album My Life.
“My Life is the album that really bonded me with my fans who have since been along for what turned out to be a crazy ride,” Blige told People. “Going back and reliving that time and that music felt like an out-of-body experience, but one I’m so humbled by.” In the trailer, Blige digs deep into her demons and blessings that inspired her record and turned her into the global superstar she is today. Marking My Life‘s 25th anniversary, Blige also performs the album live for the first time in the documentary.
