Rowing Blazers Reworks the Seiko 5 Sports Watch

Arriving in three limited-edition designs.

Seiko has linked up with Rowing Blazers on a capsule of three Seiko 5 Sports watches. Designed by Rowing Blazers’ founder and creative director Jack Carlson along with Seiko’s creative team, two of the watches are limited-edition, while the third is a special edition.

“Collaborating with Seiko is a dream come true. I have a small collection of both new and vintage Seikos, and I’m obsessed with the brand,” Carlson shared in a press release. “This is our first real foray into the world of watches – though we often sell vintage Seikos on our site – and I couldn’t imagine a better partnership. I’m very grateful to my good friend and watch rabbi Eric Wind for making the connection and assisting with the design process.”

Each style is emblazoned with one of Rowing Blazers’ “house codes,” which is a contemplative skeleton that serves as a reminder that time flies. Additionally, all designs come with a Rowing Blazers logo on the dial and arrive in a special steel case dressed in Rowing Blazers’ signature zig-zag pattern.

“The bezels are the really distinctive thing about the three watches. I wanted this capsule to be understated, subtle – but also fun. I wanted the watches to be very wearable – but to have a sense of color and irreverence,” Carlson further elaborated. One piece features a “rally” bezel, while another boasts a four-color red-blue-yellow-green bezel. Finally, the third watch sports a zig-zag bezel.

Priced from £440 GBP (approximately from $495 USD) each, Rowing Blazers x Seiko’s 5 Sports watches will be available via Rowing Blazers and Seiko‘s websites on June 17 at 11 a.m. EST. Every purchase will come with a limited-edition co-branded dad hat.
