Byredo's "Young Rose" Perfume Is Dedicated to Youth
Ben Gorham looks through the lens of the new generation for his latest fragrance.
Having launched a collector’s edition of “Blanche” earlier this summer, Ben Gorham is now back with a new perfume for his label Byredo. Dubbed “Young Rose,” the scent takes inspiration from the restlessness and youth of the new generation.
The fragrance comes with a base of musk and Ambroxan while boasting notes of Damascena rose and hints of Sichuan pepper and ambrette seeds. “The next generation always has an emotional obligation to rework the traditions of their predecessors. It’s their role to take that fearless dive into the unknown; to discover and develop what’s next. ‘Young Rose’ salutes that spirit,” Gorham speaks of the scent, which he created after being influenced by the creative dynamism he found during his trips to China. To celebrate the launch of “Young Rose,” Byredo has tapped photographer Leslie Zhang, who has visualized the scent with rose-inspired body art on young lovers.
Following an exclusive pre-launch at Hong Kong’s K11 MUSEA on August 18, “Young Rose” will receive a global release on September 2. A 100 ml bottle will set you back $1,950 HKD (approximately $250 USD).
