Rick Owens Continues Converse Collab With TURBOWPN
Reworking the footwear brand’s ’80s Weapon silhouette.
Following his TURBODRK Chuck 70 design, Rick Owens is back with Converse once again to rework the footwear brand’s revived Weapon silhouette. Arriving under the designer’s DRKSHDW line, the TURBOWPN is highlighted with warped details throughout.
“When I discovered how powerful just oversizing something a little bit was, which I’ve done with a lot of my clothes, that became one of my tools,” the designer spoke of his latest creation for Converse. Originally a basketball shoe from the ’80s, the Weapon is updated with exaggerated features that were similarly seen on the TURBODRK. The tongue is elongated, displaying a co-branded tag in black and white, while the outsole dons a chunky look. Elsewhere, the footwear style boasts minimal detailing on the upper, which comes with Owens’s own take on the American company’s star logo.
