Rick Owens' DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 Is Dropping Soon
The collaborative design made its debut on the designer’s FW21 runway.
Earlier this year, Rick Owens unveiled collaborative footwear designs with Converse on his Fall/Winter 2021 runway. About six months later, the creative is now releasing the reworked TURBODRK Chuck 70s under his DRKSHDW diffusion line.
Available in the Hi and Ox-cut iterations, the shoes come in monochromatic black-and-white themes in true Rick Owens style. “I have been presenting (and personally wearing) platform boots in the past few seasons that have a square toe grill. Distorting the iconic Converse toe into this shape drew it into my current world,” the designer explained in a conversation with HYPEBEAST. Maintaining elements from the OG silhouette, the shoe dons firm, squared toes to create a dramatic look. The canvas upper sits atop a platform sole, while further accents include the extended tongue sporting TURBODRK branding on the tag.
