Britney Spears Has Deleted Her Instagram Account
“I’ll be back soon.”
On September 14, Britney Spears deleted her Instagram account. The songstress reassured fans on Twitter to not worry and that she is “just taking a little break from social media” to celebrate her engagement with her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.
According to Page Six, a source stated that the “Baby One More Time” artist “is sending a ‘powerful’ message by deleting her Instagram amid her 13-year conservatorship.” “This was her decision,” the insider confirmed. In addition, the pop star would like to treasure her time alone “in light of the successful path that she’s been on and continues to be on [following] the news of [her engagement].”
Spears’ last post on Instagram touched on the #FreeBritney movement: “Growing up in a world where basically almost everything I did was controlled by someone else… I hope this message gets to people who have been confused or manipulated by a system,” she said. “I’ve waited 13 years and counting for my freedom … team #FreeBritney you guys f*cking kick ass!”
Earlier this month, Spears’ father finally filed to terminate her conservatorship. On top of that, the singer’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, “has filed multiple petitions in an effort to put pressure on her father to step down from acting as the conservator of her $60 million USD estate,” as per CNN.
