Loewe's Amazona Handbag Is Back With a New Look
Revamped with the house’s anagram symbol.
In celebration of its 175th anniversary, Loewe has brought back its Amazona handbag in two different styles. The updated designs were first revealed in the house’s newspaper-themed Fall/Winter 2021 collection by Jonathan Anderson.
Designed in 1975 when women were just beginning to find equality in the workplace, the bag is named after female characters from Greek mythology. Arriving in two styles — the Amazona 19 Square and Amazona 28 — the updated pieces are crafted with jacquard and calfskin in two colors, “Avocado Green” and “Black.” The designs are decorated with a repeated anagram pattern for a timeless look. Another iteration of the Amazona 28 is made out of nappa calfskin in six different shades.
