Step Into the Vintage-Filled Closet of 'Euphoria'
The hit show creates the dreamiest designer wardrobe with the help of this LA vintage store.
While viewers may tune into Euphoria for a heavy dose of second-hand drug-addled chaos, what keeps many coming back is the HBO Max show’s killer outfits. From Rue’s laid-back style to Maddy’s barely school-appropriate yet stunning looks, the hit drama gets an A in the fashion department, thanks in part to Brynn Jones, founder of Aralda Vintage.
The vintage dealer is the mastermind behind Maddy’s envy-worthy fashion montage in which she dives deep into the A-list closet belonging to Samantha, played by Minka Kelly. Trying on a number of designer looks from the late Thierry Mugler’s Vampire dress to a gold kaftan by American fashion designer Halston, Maddy lives out nearly every girl’s early aughts movie fantasy.
In an interview with Vogue UK, Jones reveals that Alexa Demie was one of her first customers, sharing that “she introduced me to [costume designer] Heidi Bivens, [who] explained the scene where Maddy tries on all these gowns and [so] we had multiple fittings and Heidi was like, ‘I think I’m just going to use all of the pieces from you [for the closet].’”
It’s worth mentioning that Aralda Vintage brought us Olivia Rodrigo’s iconic White House vintage Chanel two-piece. With a rising love for pre-owned clothing as a more sustainable alternative to shopping, Jones asserts that the recent trend “says a lot about what’s going on today. More and more people are falling in love with vintage and to have some of the best stylists in the world approaching me is incredible. It’s emblematic of how vintage is very current again.”
