Designer Thierry Mugler Dies at Age 73

French designer Manfred Thierry Mugler has died at the age of 73.
The late creative’s team took to his social media account to make the announcement. “We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday, January 23, 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace,” the Instagram post read, accompanying a black square. Other details of the death are unknown at the time of writing.
Mugler showcased his first-ever collection titled “Café de Paris” in 1973, which led to the launch of his eponymous label currently helmed by Casey Cadwallader. The designer gained popularity in the ’80s for his signature tailored suits, and later started his fragrance label in 1990, when he also presented his first couture range. After retiring from fashion in the early ’00s, Mugler made a grand comeback in 2019, dressing Kim Kardashian for the Met Gala in a stunning custom “wet” dress. In addition to the reality star, his designs are loved by celebrities like Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, just to name a few.
