Take a Look at the North Face XX KAWS Pop-Up in Hong Kong
Along with a 12-meter tall installation.
The North Face and XX KAWS celebrate their collaboration via a striking installation and pop-up store in Hong Kong.
With the aim to imitate the experience of travel, the duo’s location at Hong Kong’s Landmark mall is inspired by the descent from a mountain’s summit to base camp. Boasting a 12-meter tall installation, the space is enveloped by a snow-capped mountain landscape. The backdrop is a tribute to the collection’s debut previously held at Changbai Mountain, where the iconic sculpture was displayed against a cinematic winter projection. Elsewhere, the signature KAWS “XX” eyes hang from the ceiling in the form of rotor blades, while pieces from the capsule encased in neon cargo boxes hang at varying levels from the ceiling.
The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp is the next leg of the adventure. The entrance features a two-meter dome tent in orange and white hues. Meanwhile, the walls of the store’s interior detail the unveiling of the aforementioned collection in China. Signature elements from the capsule are placed across the 1,900-square-foot space, donning a bright palette.
The North Face XX KAWS installation and pop-up experience will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. HKT from January 14 to 23. The collection will also make its appearance at The North Face K11 Art Mall Concept Store starting on January 16. Peep the details below.
