Joe Freshgoods' Latest New Balance Requires a Charitable Donation for Purchase

Proving once again that the brand is for the people.

For his fourth partnership with New Balance, Joe Freshgoods reasserts his commitment to the city of Chicago with a charitable component. Comprised of three New Balance 993 colorways in blue, pink and green, the “Performance Art” collection honors how Black people across industries “perform,” using their varied gifts to give back.

In order to purchase a pair via Joe Freshgoods’ Every Now and Then storefront, the brand is requiring a donation to benefit Chicago schools, day cares and various nonprofits including JFG’s own Community Goods. Books must meet the following guidelines: diverse characters (for ages 5-9), award-winning books, books for beginning readers, non-fiction text (based on animals, sports, science, Black history, etc.) or any books from the Diverse Book wishlist. As for art supplies, acrylic paints, moleskin journals, and 8×10” canvases and screen print frames are welcome.

As with previous Joe Freshgoods x New Balance collaborations, fans should expect a wider release to follow in the coming weeks via New Balance and select retailers. View the campaign video below.
