Is Hotwifing the Perfect Relationship Escape?
Tune in as sex expert Gigi Engle helps us unpack.
The beauty of sex is that you can be as creative as you’d like with your pleasure. This week we learned something new, courtesy of sex and dating expert Gigi Engle from dating app 3Fun and we just had to share.
According to Engle, hotwifing is a form of dominant and submissive relationship prevalent in non-monogamous communities. It refers to a “wife, or partner of someone, who is allowed to have intimate relationships with others.” The wife’s partner is referred to as a cuckold, who “often watches her be intimate with others or is told about it later,” she continued. “To be cuckolded means that you are a cis man — usually — who is being humiliated — again, usually – in a consensual way by his wife openly having sex with other men. The other men are called ‘bulls.”
If you subscribe to social norms, you’re probably thinking who the f-ck would be down for this? Well, Engle shared that cuckolding is by no means a new trend. In fact, the book Insatiable Wives: Women Who Stray and the Men Who Love to Love Them dates the practice to at least 2009.
Hot wifing, or cuckolding, can trigger excitement for couples and even strengthen the relationship due to sharing a consensual experience. “Consensual non-monogamy takes a lot of work and a lot of talking. It can bring people to a different, deeper level of understanding.” It’s also “highly customizable,” allowing couples to explore new realms together. For example, you can incorporate entry level toys or go all in with a cock cage — its up to you and your partner(s) to decide.
So yes, cuckolding can be the perfect relationship “escape” if all parties consent to it. I mean, what’s better than a new consensual experience that peaks everyone’s sexual curiosity? Exactly.
