Cheating is nowhere near a new occurrence, but cheating in the age of social media? Seems to get messier and messier — cue Adam Levine or The Try Guys‘ fiasco. Thankfully, Match‘s in-house expert Rachel DeAlto has all the tea on cheaters and what it looks like in the age of social media.
I’m sure many of you have dated someone who once gaslit the f-ck out of you for being turned off by their social media behavior. Whether it was liking something that crossed your personal boundaries or feeling “unclaimed,” you have a right to be mindful of how social media is effecting your relationship.
DeAlto shared with Hypebae, “social media etiquette requires respect for the person you’re dating. Treat people the way that you would like to be treated. In healthy relationships, people are able to talk about what their boundaries are and what is acceptable without defensiveness. If the person you’re dating is more attached to their social media accounts than your feelings, there will be problems.”
