Taylor Swift Drops Major Hints on What's Her Next Album in Her New "Bejeweled" Music Video

The queen of easter eggs never disappoints.

Taylor Swift recently released her new music video for “Bejeweled” — the ninth track off of Midnights. The star-studded music video is a special one as the singer dropped several easter eggs for fans, including what the next album she’s releasing will be: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

The concept of the music video is her own modern take on Cinderella, with Swift playing the princess, while Laura Dern plays her stepmom and Haim portray the three stepsisters. In one particular scene, Swift goes against her family’s wishes and goes out to the ball. On her way out, she takes the elevator. According to fans, the elevator buttons represent all of Swift’s albums; the buttons are in different colors and have different numbers representing the floors, but really, they stand for each album theme as well as the order in which she’s released each of her LPs.

Swift presses the button for the third floor, which is a light purple button. Speak Now is her third studio album, featuring Swift wearing a purple dress on the album cover. Further proving this theory, the button for the fourth floor is red, representing Swift’s fourth studio album, Red. The button for the 11th floor is also red. Swift’s 11th studio album is Red (Taylor’s Version) (if you include her re-recordings on this list).

Additionally, the beginning of the music video features an instrumental version of “Enchanted” playing in the background, which is a single from Speak Now. Dern also drops a subtle hint in her dialogue during that scene; she tells Swift to “speak not.” By choosing to rebel, metaphorically, Swift will speak now.
