Here Are All the Times Bad Bunny Has Made History

‘Un Verano Sin Ti’ just made Grammy history, but the list goes on.

Bad Bunny keeps proving the sky is the limit. The Puerto Rican artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, received three 2023 Grammy nominations, the most notable one being Album of the Year for his fourth solo studio album, Un Verano Sin Ti. This is the first time an all-Spanish-language LP is nominated in that category throughout the Recording Academy’s 65-year history.

Additionally, Bad Bunny received two more nods; Un Verano Sin Ti was also nominated for Best Música Urbana Album and “Moscow Mule” was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.

If Bad Bunny wins either Album of the Year or Best Pop Solo Performance, it will be the first time he’d win a Grammy for a non-Latin category. In 2021, YHLQMDLG won him a Grammy for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album. The following year, El Último Tour Del Mundo earned him Best Música Urbana Album.

Recently, Bad Bunny has had many firsts in his career. Last week, Apple Music named him the Artist of the Year, making him the first Latine artist to receive that title. In October, his World’s Hottest Tour became the highest-grossing tour by a Latine artist, earning $232.5 million USD. In August, he made MTV VMAs history; he became the first non-language performer to win Artist of the Year. In 2020, his third solo studio album, El Último Tour Del Mundo, became the first-ever all-Spanish-language album to hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Stay tuned for more of Bad Bunny’s biggest achievements as he’s proven to be unstoppable. In the meantime, check out his competition for Album of the Year by swiping in the post below.
