BTS' Jungkook Debuts "Dreamers" on Stage at 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

A music video for the track will follow soon.

Jungkook is the latest BTS member to release a single as a solo artist. However, the K-pop artist’s new track isn’t your ordinary release — the 25-year-old took the stage at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Qatar for “Dreamers” as part of the competition’s official soundtrack.

The musician landed in Qatar about a week ahead of the performance. On November 20, he hit the stage wearing an all-black outfit accompanied by a group of dancers while debuting the track. “Look who we are, we are the dreamers/We’ll make it happen ’cause we believe it/Look who we are, we are the dreamers/We’ll make it happen ’cause we can see it,” he sings.

Aside from Jungkook, the official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup features “Tukoh Tada” by Nicki Minaj, Maluma and Myriam Fares, in addition to “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” by Davido, Trinidad Cardona and Aisha.

Kicking off with Qatar vs. Ecuador, the Qatar World Cup has been embroiled in much controversy due to issues such as human rights abuses. Celebrities like Dua Lipa have made sure to voice their opinions against supporting the games, noting that while she will “be cheering England on from afar,” she “look[s] forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup.”

Watch Jungkook’s performance of “Dreamers” down below. The music video for the track will drop on November 22.
