Emily Bode Aujla of BODE Wins the 2022 CFDA American Menswear Designer of the Year Award
Beating Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo, Amiri’s Mike Amiri, Thom Browne and Willy Chavarria.
Emily Bode of BODE has been named the CFDA 2022 American Menswear Designer of the Year.
While this is already a huge accomplishment for the designer, who founded the brand in 2016, it’s an even bigger deal considering who she was up against. This year, her competition was Fear of God‘s Jerry Lorenzo, Amiri’s Mike Amiri, Thom Browne and Willy Chavarria.
Bode was presented with the award by Trevor Noah. In her speech, she reiterated how grateful and honored she was for the recognition.
Additionally, the official Instagram page for BODE shared a statement regarding the accomplishment. “Honored to win American Menswear Designer of the Year!” read a caption. “I am incredibly proud of our Bode team. Thank you @cfda and everyone who has supported us these past 6 years! Thank you for championing and wearing Bode … I’m so very honored to work in this industry and to have a part in preserving American craft for generations to come.”
