"The Great Wall of Vagina" Visits the U.S. For First Time
On display beginning November 28.
Miami museum, the Wilzig Erotic Art Museum, will be hosting the work of sociopolitical artist Jamie McCartney, “The Great Wall of Vagina Vulva!”

The 26-foot frieze, or horizontal band of sculptures — in this case vulvas — “features volunteer participants aged 18 to 76, including mothers and daughters, identical twins and many others,” shared the exclusive press release.
European artist, McCartney, created these casts using plaster and hand-casting the genitals of over 400 vulva owners. This is the work’s first time in the United States, with former shows at the Triennale di Milano and Musex – Museu Pedagógico do Sexo in Lisbon, Portugal.

Described by McCartney’s website as “genital art,” “The Great Wall of Vagina Vulva!” is part of his belief system that “when you see what everyone else has, you’re gonna feel fine about your own.” In his words, it’s a “sociopolitical sculpture.”
