Rihanna and Beyoncé Are Immortalized In Digital Renaissance-Style Paintings
This is a work of art.
We all know Beyoncé and Rihanna are works of art, but French artist Kyés has actually rendered the musicians into masterpieces as the skilled creative turned Queen Bey and Rih Rih into stunning Renaissance-style digital paintings.
The innovative mastermind posts his work on Instagram, which has garnered over 80k followers, showcasing celebrities outfitted in old-fashioned garments and accessories. Beyonce and husband Jay Z are portrayed as absolute royalty — are we surprised — as the couple is pictured sitting a table, overflowing with food. The Houston native dons a modest yet regal white dress, paired with a voluminous up-do, while New York‘s finest wears a formidable red overcoat with gold detailing. In a separate image, Beyonce is deservingly depicted as our Founding Mother, nodding to George Washington, the first President of the United States.
Elsewhere, Rihanna resembles a lady of great status and wealth, much like she is today, as the singer is illustrated in a voluminous fur-lined blue dress with a period-appropriate head accessory. Kyés has captured other celebrities from a bloody portrait of Millie Bobby Brown, featuring her Stranger Things‘ character El’s signature nose bleed. Meanwhile, Madonna lives up to her matriarchal name as the iconic singer wears an elegant and mysterious veiled hat, topped with a bouquet of flowers. Amy Winehouse, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus and and Mick Jagger have all been inaugurated into Kyes’ art history books.
