TikTok Says You Need to Apply Foundation With Your Hands for a Flawless Base — And It’s True

Please just remember to wash your hands.

Many beauty enthusiasts will tell you they prefer applying foundation with their hands to get the best coverage and flawless base. However, this beauty editor begs to differ, but the beauty side of TikTok agrees and stands by this theory.

Liquid products are generally messy, and when you’re wearing a fresh winter white blouse, the last thing you want to have are your fingers covered in liquid makeup. According to TikTok, it’s all worth it, as there is a method to the madness. Traditionally, I’m with the complexion product users who apply foundation to the end of the brush and spread it evenly in the spots that need coverage — others are shaking the foundation straight from the bottle directly to their face and massaging it in. Some users lather their hands in the foundation and blend it into their faces using their fingertips. Either way, the goal is still the same: a flawless and smooth base.

OG Beauty Girl and Jones Road Beauty founder Bobbi Brown says that blending foundation into your skin with your hands helps to create that “I’m not wearing foundation look.” And while that may be true, it all depends on personal preference. This beauty junkie won’t be using his hands. However, we’ll leave a few clips below for those who have converted.

@21makeupaddictions Replying to @nora_the_new_gurl Doing all my makeup ONLY using my HANDS😨.. I’m used to blending makeup with brushes & sponges so far the foundation blended! Cream bronzer & cream blush not too bad yet!✨✨ #makeuptransformation #makeupideas #makeuptips #creativemakeup #makeupchallenge ♬ Music Instrument – Gerhard Siagian
