Fans Slam Travis Scott on Anniversary of Astroworld Tragedy

He still found the time to post a selfie with Kylie Jenner.

Fans are in an uproar at Travis Scott‘s insensitivity as the rapper managed to post a selfie with girlfriend Kylie Jenner on the anniversary of the devastating Astroworld tragedy, but had no rewords of remorse towards the concert-goers who lost their lives.

November 5, 2021 marked the day when the 50,000-person concert turned into a stampede, injuring hundreds and killing ten innocent fans. While the event undoubtedly put a wrench in Scott’s career, causing many musicians to better examine the issue of concert safety, he appears to have moved on completely a year later. As of now, Scott has not put out a statement, remembering the tragedy. Instead, the 31-year-old attended Kris Jenner‘s birthday eve dinner, finding the time to share a picture on his Instagram stories of Jenner dressed as a version of her mom from 1989.

To add insult to injury, Scott posted a sunset picture, but still has said nothing about the families who can no longer celebrate the birthdays of their loved ones because of the unsafe environment present at his concert. While the responsibility does not fall solely on the Houston rapper to ensure all who attend his shows leave alive, he undoubtedly needs to be held accountable for his response, or lack thereof, as well as his approach to concert safety in the future.

Former admirers of Scott were not silent as a screenshot of the image was shared on Reddit, immediately sparking outrage and starting an entire thread. Some wrote, “Disappointing but not surprising,” while another commented, “A year ago people were crushing to death, but yeah, Travis go off.”

A separate user had a lot to get off their chest as they typed, “Is this dude okay? In the middle of Instagram? On the one year anniversary of 10 innocent people dying at your concert? F–k Travis Scott.”

They’re not wrong.
