Selena Gomez Clarifies *That* Taylor Swift Comment
“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
Following the release of Selena Gomez‘s My Mind and Me documentary, the singer-slash-actor spoke about the fact that she struggled to make friends with people in the entertainment industry.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Gomez shared that she “never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities,” adding that her “only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong.”
As expected, Gomez’s comments went viral and sparked rumors about a potential feud between the singer and her friend Francia Raisa, who donated her kidney to Gomez when she was suffering with lupus. Raisa was seen commenting the word “interesting” on an E! news post that featured Gomez’s comment about Swift, which led fans to believe that there’d been some issues regarding the pair’s friendship, which began in 2007.
Soon after fans discovered Raisa’s comment, it was deleted, but that didn’t stop the speculation. Raisa wasn’t following Gomez on Instagram at the time, which only fuelled the rumors more. Thankfully, Gomez weighed in on the supposed issue on TikTok, writing a comment that read “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
Hours after Gomez’s documentary aired, Swift posted about the project on her Instagram story, sharing footage with a comment that read “So proud of you @selenagomez. Love you forever.”
