Disney Taps Givenchy for Its 100-Year Anniversary Capsule

With a campaign starring Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch and Alton Mason.

Givenchy and Disney have teamed up for a second time following their initial collaboration in May, for an all-new capsule collection in celebration of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary.

Starring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the collection honors Lunar New Year and sees Oswald adorn a lineup of jackets, hoodies, denim and graphic tees. In fact, Givenchy’s creative director, Matthew M. Williams, designed a “one-of-a-kind world tour” for the character, which takes him from New York and Paris to Los Angeles, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Standout pieces in the collection include a vibrant red varsity jacket, bandana print button-down and patchwork denim pieces in the form of a jacket and jeans. Elsewhere, the capsule features a range of playful accessories, from co-branded Disney x Givenchy tote bags to cardholders and caps.

In celebration of the collection, Disney and Givenchy have created a mixed-reality short film, produced in collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios alongside art director and photographer Julian Klincewicz. Starring Madelaine Petsch, Amber Liu and Alton Mason, the project takes a journey through Shanghai, New York, Paris and Tokyo.

The Disney x Givenchy capsule collection will be available for purchase from December 16 in China, Singapore and at the brand’s Tokyo Ikebukuro pop-up. The collection is also set to launch at the Miami Aventura pop-up on December 19, and will be available for purchase globally from December 30 on Givenchy’s website.
